![]() | Halima teaches classical American cabaret style bellydance, as well as Egyptian and Turkish styles. She has been a bellydancer since 1980. Her first teacher was Gaylene Meredith in Sheridan, Wyoming. Halima has taught and performed on three continents over the last 27 years, and is fiercely dedicated to preserving the beauty and art of classical cabaret style bellydance. She teaches with humor and a deep knowledge base rooted in years of travel and training. Students learn how to dance properly and safely as Halima explains which muscles to use and how to do so without injury. Halima's students have ranged in age from 6 to 86 (so far!). She is also the director of the Carolina Kismet Bellydancers, which is comprised of a student-level troupe, and a professional troupe. |
